How To Wrap A Standard Candy Bar

How to Make Standard Open End Wrapper
By Lee Siefert www.rogerwrapit.com

Materials Needed:

Wrap Candy Software
Hershey’s bars 1.55 oz
Inkjet or laser printer
Inkjet , laser or glossy photo paper of any light to medium weight 28 LB. (Hammermill Office One Business Gloss)
Cutting instrument or very sharp scissors
Gluestick or Double-sided tape

This template is for the ‘open end’ Hershey’s bar which is covered first with a foil then over wrapped with your
designed wrapper. Since the company no longer foil wraps their bars, this is an added step to give it the
original look it once had. The steps are very easy and as you make more you will gain expertise in printing, cutting and assembly.

The cwr template file I have included has all the lines kept in to help you visualize where the graphics and/or text would go. You can print this out and keep by your side, or delete all the lines and write down the numbers and Save As without the lines and graphics .

Measurements for this bar is 5.2 wide x 5.5 high.

Here is a full template screen shot with the lines.

Lay your bar flat on a table. The front/top part of your bar would need the graphics between 9/10 to 30/31 for
centering placement and these are ruler guide marks on the left side of your design. They are in 10th’s; so 1 is 10,
2 is 20 and so on.

Here is the front side would look if it were wrapped.

Turn your bar over to the back or bottom side, this is where you can place other graphic/text or nutritional info.

Here is the back/bottom side if it were wrapped.

As you will notice, these lines for placement give a
centered look to both sides. You can go beyond any of the placement lines toward the edge of the bar depending on your design, just so it looks professional and easy to read. There is no rule on this, just your artistic eye.

Here is an example of a nutrition info box that can be used on the back/bottom side as an alternative idea.

Place your wrapper upside down on the table with the top end facing you, run a gluestick across the bottom edge that will get folded over to meet the top on the back/bottom side. If using photo glossy paper, double sided scotch tape is recommended. Fold the top of the wrapper over the edge of your candy bar until it meets at this 8th ruler mark.

Your addy (website, email and/or phone number can be placed anywhere you like, but by placing it on the 8th ruler mark it makes a handy starting point for wrapping your bar instead of guessing. Keep the font lower than the the design text you are using, perhaps an 7 or 8.

If you sell only wrappers, this can assist your customer on
folding correctly every time. If you choose not to place your addy at the 8th ruler mark, a soft gray or other color thin line (0.01) that is not real noticeable works just as well to help with the starting edge for folding.

*Some members use a sticker/label to place on the inside of the wrapper for reorder information, which again, is
optional as another idea for advertisement.

Good luck and happy wrapping!
