| TOPICS Once you have downloaded your file, simply open it up and follow the on screen instructions. Once the program is installed, Open it up by clicking on the Start >>> All Programs >>> Wrapcandy >>> Wrapcandy Your program should look similar to the picture below: ![]() Now that your program is open, it is best to start with one of our templates. To open a template, simply click on File >>> Open and wait for a box to appear. The box should look similar to the one below: ![]() To open a template, simply click on the drop down menu, Double Click your C Drive, Then Program Files >>> Wrapcandy >>> Templates. Decide which template you wish to open by clicking on it and selecting open in the bottom right hand corner. Once your template is open, you can edit any aspect of it. Changing, Adding or Deleting Text To change any part of the text, click on it with your mouse. When you click on the text box you will be able to change it on the left hand side. You can change the words, Font, Color Size and even rotate it. ![]() Depending on How Much Text You type in the box, you may need to resize your text box. See picture below: ![]() Put your cursor on the edge of the box, hold down the left mouse button and move your mouse in any direction to change the size. You can do this with images too! To Add Text, simply click on Insert >>> Text ![]() A small text box with the word TEXT should appear on your wrapper. On the left hand side you can change the text however you wish. Deleting Text. Just click on the text box you wish to remove, and hit the DEL or Delete key on your keyboard. You can also, just click on the X in the top tool bar of the program. Inserting Images Wrapcandy 6.5 supports .jpg, .gif .bmp and wmf image files. You can add as many or as few as you’d like. To insert an image, click on Insert >>> Insert Picture (You Would Choose Metafile for .WMF files) ![]() When you select Insert Picture, a box will appear which will allow you to search your hard drive. For images that come with the program, you should find them under C: >>> Program Files >>> Wrapcandy >>> Clipart. TIP for XP Users. Click the View Thumbnail Option as pictured below: ![]() As you can see it makes choosing an image much easier: ![]() Another Tip for all users is that you can copy and paste images from other programs such as Internet Explorer, Many Graphics Programs: Let’s use Internet Explorer as an example: (Disclaimer: Most images online are copyright protected. Be sure you have the right to use an image online before copy and pasting to your wrapper) In IE, right click the image you wish to use on your wrapper and select copy: ![]() Next, Go to your Wrapcandy program and select Edit >>> Paste: ![]() (You can also Hold Control on your keyboard and press the letter V to Paste) Rotating, Resizing and Flipping Images: After you insert an Image, you have a few options. You can rotate it, Resize it, flip it and delete it. To rotate or Flip, simply click on the image you wish to work on. In the left hand corner you will see some options, choose what you would like the program to do, then click the Red rotate button to move the image. See the image below: ![]() Resizing an image is fairly simple, just left click and hold on the corner of the image and move your mouse in any direction. To Delete an Image, click on it and hit the Del or Delete Key on your keyboard. Adding, Deleting, and Modifying Custom Labels: With Wrapcandy.com, you can add your own label definition. This is a powerful tool which will allow you to unlock your creativity. There are many things you could create custom wrappers or labels for. To add a Custom Label click on Labels >>> Add custom label ![]() You will the see a box that looks like the following: ![]() First you will want to create a unique name for your label. Next you’ll need to determine how wide it is. If you are making a label for a candy bar, just peel it off and measure. If it is 3 and ½ inches wide, you would enter 3.5 In case you have forgotten your math I’ll list the most common fractions: 1/5 = .20 1/4 = .25 1/3 = .33 2/5 = .40 1/2 = .50 3/5 = .60 2/3 = .66 3/4 = .75 For the Margins and Gaps, it will depend on how many you want to get per sheet, your printer, and how much space you would like for cutting. In general try these; you can change them anytime you want: Left 0.75 Top 0.5 Right 0.75 Bottom 0.75 Horizontal and Vertical 0.1 Once you’ve added a label, you can select it by Clicking on File New and then clicking on the canvas. In the left hand corner, you will see a drop down menu “Type of Label” ![]() If you would like to Change any of the details of your label, Click on Labels, Modify Custom Label. You can also delete it. Other Handy Features · Inserting Lines - Lines can be very useful. To insert a line, just click on Insert >>> Line. You will then be able to make changes to the line in the left hand corner. You can change the thickness, the direction and color ![]() · Inserting Shapes Shapes can come in handy. To add a shape to your wrapper, click on Insert >>> Insert Shape. ![]() You can change the shape, fill color, border color and thickness of the border in the top left hand corner. · Bring To Front or Send to Back When your right click on an image or text, you will notice that you have an option to “Bring to Front” or “Send to Back” This is a powerful tool that you will use often. If you you see part of your text is hidden behind an image, just Right Click on any part of the text that you can, and select Bring to Front. If you can’t click on any part of the text, either move the image over for a moment, or right click the image and Select Send to Back. Note: If you are using a full sized background image, and you send an image to back, you will need to send your Background image to the back to see your image again. Printing Your Label So your wrapper is ready to be printed. That’s Great! First we highly recommend that you “Print Preview” your wrapper first by clicking on File >>> Print Preview. This is exactly how it will print out. If any layer is not correct, X out the print preview screen and make the correction. Once you have previewed your wrapper, click File >>>> Print. You should see a screen similar to the one below: Make sure the proper printer is selected, and click on Properties. Clicking on properties will allow you to change your printing quality. Set it to High or Best and select Okay. If this is the first wrapper you are printing, only print out one copy to make sure it comes out the way you want it. Saving Your Finished Label Saving your finished label is a snap. Just click on File >>> Save As. ![]() Next select a good location to save it, then name it something unique and select okay.
