Article: Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

By: Russ Moore

Surfing the web for internet marketing info is getting
almost as bad as walking through a carnival.

You're trying to get to the ferris wheel so you can take
a ride to the top, but along the way the carnies are
shouting from the sidelines trying to get you to spend a
buck to take a shot at THEIR game.

"Step right up folks and earn $50,000 online in the next
6 months! Knock down all the bowling pins with this here
ping-pong ball and you'll soon be eating steak for
breakfast, lunch & dinner!! This is so easy your grandma
could do it... with a broken arm... and arthritis!!"

I'm not saying all of the folks selling courses are out
to get your money, but they are. ;o)

Hey, it's their job, so don't blame them.

Wouldn't YOU want to use every possible opportunity to
expose your website and/or offer to as many people as
you can... as many times as you can?

If not, you should.

They are just doing what they should be doing... getting
your attention and selling you a product.

Of course if they don't support you in your purchase or
deliver what they promised, they are just as bad (if not
worse) than the carny.

Here are 3 key areas you should work on to ensure your
survival on the way to that ferris wheel.

#1. Focus
#2. Focus
#3. Focus

Ok, so maybe it's really only one. But it's critical.

My nephew said something the other day. I know I've heard
it before, but it really jumped out at me when he said it.

"Keep your eyes on the prize."

Wow! Profoundly accurate. If you take your eyes off
that ferris wheel, you're in trouble.

The screaming carnies, the smell of the food, the
flashing lights, bells & whistles and everyone else
having fun doing something different.

Take your eyes off that ferris wheel for just one
second, and something will grab you by the scruff of the
neck and lead you in another direction.

Stay focused! Keep YOUR eyes on the prize.

Don't jump on every opportunity that comes along.
Pick yourself a good, reputable system and work it
like crazy.

...and remember, NEVER make eye contact with a carny.

Craft Tip:

Did you know when you put flowers in a vase and it
it is hard to keep them stable when there are not quite
enough flowers, that you can put a smaller vase inside
the larger vase to make your creation stable, centered
and pretty?

MAGIC PIE RECIPE - This is so cool, read what happens
when you bake this pie.

4 eggs
1/4 cup margarine
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups milk or half and half
1 cup coconut
1 teaspoon vanilla

Place all ingredients in blender at one time and blend until
mixed together. Pour into a buttered 10-inch piepan. Bake in a
350 degree oven for 1 hour. When done, crust will be on bottom,
custard in the middle, an coconut on top - right where they
belong.

Weight Loss Tip:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Learn to not eat those last bites. If in a restaurant,
just poor some pepper or salt over it, if you have to.
It takes 20 minutes for the body to feel satisfied, so
eat more slowly and allow that feeling.
One really good exercise to lose weight is to
use your arms and hands and push yourself away
from the table. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~
Safety Tip:

When cleaning, don't use sponges, at least not where
you are going to put food. Sponges are strong germ
carriers. Use a clean cloth.

Don't store milk and mayonnaise in your refrigerator
door. It does not generally stay cold enough to keep
those two items fresh.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Parent Tip:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
School is here!
Talk to your kids about how important breakfast is.
And, get them some protein. It's a known fact that
the blood sugar stays more stable with protein, lasting
through until lunch, and keeping the blood sugar
from dropping. This will increase your child's learning
ability.

It also keep them from having a huge slump by dinner
time, too.

Household Tip:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you are cooking, if you wipe and put things
away while you are doing the cooking, you'll save
yourself a lot of overwhelm when it comes to cleaning
up after everything.
It surprises me when I help to cook for someone and
see the carton of eggs still out, the butter, the open can of
coffee, tea bags dropped into the sink, and other things
that start piling up. This not only gets in your way as you
cook, it is healthier to get things back into the refrigerator
right away.
Car Tip -
Save money with gas. Make sure your shocks
are not too old. Make sure that you are not always
carrying extra stuff in the car that weigh a lot.
Keep windows closed on the freeway, as the pull
of the wind will cause you to spend more gas.
When in rush hour, put your car in neutral, leaving it
in drive with the brakes on causes extra gas usage
too.
Tasteful Joke
Fortieth Birthday
A middle-aged guy is out to dinner with his
wife to celebrate her fortieth birthday. He asks,
"So what would you like, Julie? A Jaguar? A sable coat?
A diamond necklace?"
She answers, "Bernie, I want a divorce."
"My goodness," he responds, "I wasn't planning on
spending that much."
