Any advice as to which printer is best for wrapper and gallon can creations?

Did you search printers on the forum. Not long ago there was a discussion about what to buy. I think it might have been started by Ellie Woo Hoo. I know I've read several. When you search, make sure you check out the prices of ink. Some of hte printers can be on sale and aren't that expensive but the ink for laser printers is very expensive. I personally have a the smallest Dell Color Laser Printer 1230c. It was on sale before christmas for $99. The ink runs about $55 per color. The only draw back is that you have to order it either from Office Depot or Dell. You can't go into Office Depot and pick it up. I thought about buying different one where I could go buy the ink but the ink was more expensive. So instead, I just make sure I have a spare on hand. Oh and so far the shipping has been free and it comes within 2 business days.

Does it print pictures nice? I have heard that some do not.

It does. I will say that I could not believe the difference between my inkjet and laser. The colors on the screen never look the same when printed on my inkjet but always looks the same with my laser printer. Once I ran out of ink and had to use my inkjet and I hated it. It was slow to print, the color wasn't as bright and vivid. Now I make sure to have spare ink on hand. Like I said, when that occurred I was seriously considering another laswer printer from one of the office supply stores but they were more expensive and so was the ink. This works better. I just have to make to sure I have spare ink from now on. When I put the last color in the printer, I get online immmediately and order a new one. Its at my house in 2 days so I should never run out again. A while ago, there was a post about unlimited ink that you paid for monthly but I could never find any printers like that. It might be something for overseas that isn't offered in the states.

I purchased my laser this fall. I have the HP Laser Jet CP3525 and I'm really pleased with the quality of the printouts of the wrappers. I would have taken it back if the prints were not photo quality. It was very important to me to have the same photo quality prints that I had with my Epson Ink Jet. Whatever laser printer you decide on just make sure you set it up to do the best printout when you print. Hope this information helps you.

I have a Color Laser Brother 4040CN. I love it. I paid only $175 for mine but that was because I caught a really great sale. I beleive the retail is $350. The toner goes for about $70 - $80 depending on where you get it from. It's expensive but boy does it lsts a long time for me. I bought my printer about 1 1/2 years ago and only had to change the yellow toner once. All the other colors are still going strong. The printer tells you how many pages you have left for each color adn all my colors are still in the 1000s.

**You might want to take in consideration that I also have a B&W laser that I use for regular documents and a inkjet for non-business related prints but I still don't think that the life on the toner is that bad**

I believe that Ellie purchased an Oki. I am going to be checking with her when I am ready to buy a laser. I am pretty sure i want to get the same one.

Julene - Thanks for your suggestion. Someone said you have to change a drum when you change the toner. I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Do you know which model?

The Oki is a wax toner and is a digital laser whereas the Brother, HP and Samsungs are laser printers. Just make sure you get 2400 X 600 dpi for best printing...

I was using the Konica Minolta for the last 4 years and yes, my drum is at about 8% and to replace it's about $150 so it would make better sense to get another printer. I did also purchase the Brother HL 4040CN and absolutely love it! Still have my Oki and use only for primary color printing or my business cards. Do test prints if you can...
