Wow!  This is a new idea.  I have never heard of this one at all.  When my son got married almost 4 years ago, he married a girl that is Itlaian(Sicilian) and her family and friends are big on dessert tables so that's what they had.  It was beautiful-consisting of 4or 5 of the large round tables covered with many, many different kind of cakes, and pastries etc. At that time I had just started even trying to wrap candy and didn't have any program or anything, but I made up a SOE wrapper with their picture on it as well as minis that were also included on this dessert table.  The display looked beautiful and it was something to see and it cost a lot (we paid for half of it) but there was sooooooo much left over that we couldn't even begin to take home.

I will be interested in hearing what happens and what you come up with.

WOW you all... This idea is great....

All the possibilities you could do...

Like a bunch of wrapped mini's of the SAME bar and put them in a round clear glass bowl with a label on the bowl stating what type of candy bar it is.....

Also on the unwrapped candy  ones you could put a label on them.....

Could also do a few sucker trees or arrangements for each end of the tables...

Possibilities are endless....
HOW COOL IS THIS>>>>

Wow, this is amazing!  Veronica, as usual, your display is just gorgeous!

And Lisa, I can't believe how many different kinds of candy you have!  I feel better already!! LOL

I obviously haven't ever done a candy buffet, but I have done personalized laminated stickers, similar to wine labels, for paper bags for wedding cake, birthday favors for a 50th birthday, and a few other occasions ... that may be another idea especially if the bride doesn't want to go for the extra cost of wrapped candy.

Can't wait to see what she picks. :-)

My niece had a beautiful one set up at her's. She used all clear glass dishes, very old ones and princess house dishes. And she used only candies in her colors. Which was red and silver, Here is picture but didn't get the full view of it. If someone wants to see the full view I will see if I can find a picture of it.

Trying not to laugh here cause the concept and the pictures are fantastic but it sounds like my house - What's for dinner?

Well, there's some Lifesavers, Hershey bars, BreathSavers and Charms suckers. And for dessert, some snack Kit Kats and Smarties...
I'm busy with orders...grab a salami sandwich

J/K We really do eat food sometimes.

Very good pictures of the buffet! I'm impressed! Never heard of this...

LOL Lee, that sounds like my house.  My kids think candy is a staple now that i am doing this.  We have a bubble gum machine, Chocolate, Suckers, Tic Tac's YOU NAME IT!  The funniest part is i keep saying to them you eat too much candy all the time !!!  (MMMMmmmm wonder how they got that idea????).  I haven't been to an event that has the candy buffet yet, but that is a interesting concept make your own party favor.

My son's friends know my office is off limits...they have big pockets and don't realize what they can have or not.

I can't bargain them into taking my stale smarties or leftover  candy canes... now why don't 15 yr old boys want candy canes instead of Kit Kats??? I'll never figure that one out...LOL

First time I've heard of this too, but a great idea.  Thanks for filling us in.  I think that making milk boxes or pinch boxes would be a really cute idea!  Let us see what you make!

I just attended a wedding on St. Patrick's Day, where they had this.  The bride's favorite color is green, her bridesmaid wore all sage green dresses and it was the most beautiful color wedding I've seen.  She had a candy buffet table set out with an assortment of candies, all with the green theme.  It was really neat.  I had no idea this was the new trend until now.
