Did you read all the reviews in that link Karen posted? You will see that was just one person's reviews, there are many others and for everyone that hates it, there is one that loves it. So, you never know, everyone is different and every printer is different. Surely between the two of them one will do a good job! LOL Same for customer service, some people had good luck with them and others had an experience like mine!
Hang in there and keep praying that you get the good ones! ;o)

As for the pictures in the newsletter they are jpg pictures saved from a digital camera that the receration dept uses. aThey just download the pictures into their computer program for the newletter.
No special paper used just laser printer paper and the pictures are clear and crisp.. If my wrapper come out half as good that is 10 times better than my ink jet now..
I am disappointed to hear that it does not work well with cardstock.. My inkjet won't print card stock at all so I take it to Staples to be printed costs a bundle ..was hoping not to have that problem anymore. patti

Not to put a thorn into your excitement. But 600x600 dpi is not the best for photo quality and wrappers. You really want something that is 2400x600 dpi. I didn't want to say anything but if you are open to exchange or return...see how it prints first for you.

My Minolta has 3 options:
600x600
1200x600
2400x600

There is a big difference with the 3 settings especially for wrappers.

Thanks again to all. Lee, that is a good point. I don't know much about the dpi thing. I am already thinking these are going to go back.

I went back to that link and read ALL the entries, and I would say the majority of them were bad. But, on the other hand, people will complain about something, but, not necessarily compliment when something is good. ????

I have had 3 HP printers, that's why I wanted to go with them in the first place, but, it sounds like their quality control is going downhill. I guess I will just have to wait and see how they print. But, I am so glad I put this one here, and got all this feedback, so I can be on my guard at the get go.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was your Minolta?

Plus, does it print good on card stock?

Nancy, I think you're exactly right, there's no way to know how many people are totally satisfied and didn't take the time to enter a review. I know I love to read them before buying but haven't ever filled one out. Shame on me, we should provide people with the info. we like to get. :o)

I'm bumping this up for Lee as I would love to hear what model she has. Someday I will get a new one but for now, this replacement has to do.

Oh gosh, mine is from maybe 3 years ago, 2 years ago? It's the Konica Minolta 2400. About $299? But it had a $150 rebate at that time. There is a newer version out. But I also have the Oki 5200

Sometimes I hesitate to comment, but...when you are spending money then I would rather comment than have you spend money and be disatisfied.

600x600 is great for all around printing
1200x600 is better
2400x600 is best for photo or other graphics

It's the dots per inch. When you look at a laser print you will see the little dots. So, the more the better. Inkjet is best for photo as most inkjets are 9600x1200 I think. Ink is sprayed and covers the paper and gives excellent results. Laser has the dots but waterproof/smudgeproof.

This is what it is...most printer people, office supply or otherwise do not fully understand what we do and what type of printer is best for us.

An employee in a store will tell you the HP is the best. It is, but the tri-color cartridge is not cost effective for us. Whereas the individual inks are.

I have HP everything. Lap top desk top laser and ink jet. I think my inkjet has 4 cartriges too. The only problem with the laser was too little memory, I got another "memory Board" can't remember what it's called and it just slipped right in. No problems since. I had heard about the picture problem so I really haven't tried it. I never had a gray problem either. Guess I got lucky. Try yours out (both of them, with different papers). Use alot of graphics...or a sheet of minis to check out memory.
You might get lucky too!
