Easy WC tutorial - How to use the CROPPING TOOL
« on: May 29, 2008, 08:47:48 AM »
What is the cropping tool? The cropping tool is a useful aid in “cleaning up” your images by eliminating the excess that surrounds it.
It does not allow you to remove the background, but you can “select” an area of your image and cut away the rest.
It’s perfect for creating “close-ups” of your favourite picture!

How do I use the cropping tool in WC?

Select the "crop" tool.
Situated on the left hand side of your WC software screen.

Once you have selected the tool, your top tool bar will display your cropping options and a drop down menu.

Select the shape you wish to crop your image into from the drop down menu and click “click to crop”

You’ll notice a darker area where your image has been cropped.

You can now move the cropped image and work with it. Your original image will remain intact.
Your cropping tool will not alter your original image in any way; it will just make a “copy” of the area you want.
You may use my designs for personal or commercial use,as a hand finished personalized item. You may not crop/chop/recolor/reshare/claim as your own. If you need anything done please contact me!

Veronica, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you doing this. It is VERY frustrating to have this program and figure out how to use it by trial and error. I get disgusted and don't try again for a few days. But you explaining things like this is simple words that a non-computer wiz can figure out is wonderful! This newbie thanks you!!
Website under re-model at the moment. Stay tuned for grand re-opening!

Oh WHY WHY WHY isn't there a book with step by step instructions to do ALL of these things? This program does so much that we (perhaps I) don't know about or how to do it.  We need a "how to" book to look up projects, etc.

Yes we would love an instructional book.  I would also like to see in the near future for the crop tool to actually crop around the image that would be a wonderful upgrade (hint).  Love WC

Thank you for this tutorial and the visual aid.  This is great, I actually learned something.  I would love it if you can show me how to erase the background so I can perhaps learn to get rid of the background of the picture so I can "elf" my kids for Christmas this year.  I can never surprise them with the video because I don't know how to just have a photo of their head.

An instruction manual would be fantastic.  I'm newer than new here and I'll have to say I'm lost.  I've been trying to practice with it and can't figure anything out.  Thanks so much for the help with this topic.  Maybe one day I'll figure this stuff out.
