Finally it is fixed - AVG Virus Program

Have been having computer problems just on WC.  I could not open the pages and when I did I could only look if I tried to download something it would freeze.  Ready to pull my hair out.

When I decided to do a fix on my virus program.  I had tried everything else.  Did the fix last night and it is working so far this morning.

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY, Giddy.

Anyone that got only bits of thank yous from me I am sorry.  Thank you everyone that makes this site so great.

oh really what did you do
that is happening to me at the moment
its not happening with any other programme
i thought it was a glick in wc and didnt really want to raise the issue under the current circumstances
what did you do to fix it
i would appreciate the info

All I did was go to the site that I have for my anti virus which is AVG, clicked free download, it gave me the option to fix program, So I chose fix program, let it do its thing and restarted and has worked great since.  Knock on wood.

I did all the other things that windows and microsoft said to do but that did not help at all.

So I decided to see if it was a problem with my Virus protection.  Not sure if it was or not but it fixed the problem.

Maybe that is my problem as I had the same thing with it freezing and not being able to get some pages to load. I have AVG as well. I will try your fix. Thanks,

No you have to go to the web page I was going to redownload the program.  And on the web page when I hit for the free program to download.  The page came up and it had the option on there to fix problems.  So I clicked on fix and let it run.  Has been working great every since.

But you have to go to the web site, not just hit update in the program.  That does not fix the problem.  I did that a couple times.

the link is avg.com.  Download the free program and it will come up with 3 choices, one of which is to fix, click that one and let it run.  Mine has worked since I did it.
