Author Topic: NEED HELP ASAP! LOST WRAP CANDY PROGRAM... (Read 4146 times)

Please help! We had a virus in our computer and had to "restart" our computer from scratch. I backed up my Wrap Candy program (I was using 7.0 Basic) to a disk but something must have happened and it would not re-install when our computer was re-booted. I now cannot download the 7.0 (nor can I upgrade to the 7.1 program because I don't have the "full Warp Candy program downloaded".) I cannot wait for a cd to arrive as I have a project that needs to be completed by 3:00 this afternoon. Can anyone help me figure this out? PLEASE!?!?!?!

Can you run Macfees or something? I dont know this has never happened to me! I hope YOu can work it out! If you save the files in images you can try to make then in photo shop, digital image ect. That's what I would try to do if all fails. Good luck!

No, the virus is gone, we had to re-boot the computer and it erased my candy program completely. I backed it up beforehand, but it won't re-install. I am looking for the download link for 7.0 basic to try to download it again, but it doesn't seem to exist. It seems that I am stuck unless anyone else has a suggestion????

I will pay to upgrade to the Pro version if it means getting my program back, but do I have to have any of the basic version downloaded in order to have the Pro version? If so, I need a link to download the basic version before I can upgrade. ARGH!!!

Is the install link not in your e-mail...like yahoo. or did the virius effect your mail box too.???

OH! I didn't think to check my email links...I'll look there. I tried the link you sent but that doesn't work because I need the basic program installed. It reads: Before installing this update you should have the full Wrap Candy version installed. However, i will try looking in my email folders and favorites files to see if I can find it in there! GOOD THINKING! YEEE-HAW! I also emailed the help desk. Hmm, it's 1:00, how fast can I get my project done if this works?

None of the links to the older programs work (the basic ones needed to run the newer programs). DO you need any of the basic programs to use the Pro version?

The only thing I can think of when you formatted the hard drive and started from scratch is that even tho you are starting fresh...you will have to re-install some programs to put you back to where you were before the virus.

You have to re-install Microsoft NET.frame....the wrapcandy program will not install nor run without it...

Chances are....this is your problem. It's the only one I can think of at this time. Try that and then install the wrapcandy program again...but make sure you have the Net-frame installed first before going ahead.

I did re-installed the .NET framework, however, my entire Wrap Candy program was wiped out and wouldn't re-install from backup even though I had the .NET framework downloaded. I think it was a disk error. So, I tried searching the old forums for the link to re-install the 7.0 Basic program (but it didn't seem to exist) and if I tried to install any program newer than that, it wouldn't let me install it unless I had a previous version (such as 7.0) already installed...so I was kinda stuck! However, I took a chance and went ahead and purchased the upgrade to the PRO version hoping I wouldn't have to have a previous version already installed. I installed it and it worked so now I have the PRO version. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me out.
