CPM: Short for cost per thousand. Impressions. This type of marketing is usually not so good. I would personally avoid it if possible. Bascially, you get charged just for your ad showing and not for people going to your website. It is usually not a good ROI (Return on Investment)

Ezine and Newsletter Marketing: A good choice if you find a good “Target Market” Remember, your main market is New Moms, New Borns, Holidays and Weddings.

PPC Pay Per Click

Pay per click is one of the quickest ways to get targeted traffic. There are many pay per click companies:

These are the two I recommend you try first:

Google Ad Words
and Overture (owned by Yahoo)

Quick Explanation of Pay Per Click. It is just like it sounds, you pay money when someone clicks on your ad.

Let's Start with Google, as they are the easiest to use and only have a $5.00 start up fee. (Last I checked)

The nice thing about google, is they still accept 5 Cent Bids. (Meaning you can bid as low as 5 Cents for keywords)

Keywords are very important. For instance, Make Candy Wrappers as a phrase is a great keyword for our Site.

Anytime, someone searches for Make Candy Wrappers, or How to make candy wrappers, our listing shows up on google in the right hand side. (Our listing is usually 3rd, 4th or 5th as we only bid $0.10 for placement.) We find that people looking to make candy wrappers, shop around..

Before signing up for google ad words, be sure your site is ready to take sales. There is no point in paying money for targeted traffic if you can't make a sale.

Next, start very small; 5 Cent bids on very specific keywords.
If you see that you are making sales, you can always raise it later.

Start with 10 keywords or phrases that directly relate to your product. You will add more later.

Be sure to check on your account everyday to see how much you are spending. You should do this for the first 2 weeks. If you make any changes, you should monitor your account. (You can also set daily spending limits)

Sales Standard and Leader Sales:

Everyone likes to make sales, and everyone likes sales. They go together very well.

In this small section, I will talk about 2 types of sales. The standard On Sale "Was $29.00 and is now $22.00, and a second type of sale known as a leader sale.

Your website should always have some sort of standard sale to encourage buying. Have you ever gone to a grocery store to get milk, and pick up something else JUST because it was on sale? If you haven't, you are not normal :o)

Because there are a lot of impulse buyers online, it is a great idea to have a good selling product on sale. Buyers may order JUST because it is on sale.

Leader Sales:

The second type of sale is a Leader Sale. A leader sale is generally something you sell that you LOSE money selling. That's right, lose money.

Why are leader sales good? Because they may buy something that makes your money in the future or at the same time.

Leader sales are great for getting new customers. If you don't have an email list of your customers, then this strategy is not for you.

The nice part about selling digital products, as you can usually have a Leader sale without losing any money. Sell one of your packages (that are not selling as well anymore) for just a $1.00.

Viral Marketing:

Viral Marketing is a way of getting your website known quickly. This is not an actual computer virus. True Viral marketing is usually started by giving away a great eBook that is filled with valuable informatioin or a useful free software program or script. It is passed around the internet via email, other websites and friends.

Many "big wigs" use this technique to promote their website.
